The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants

The Simpons are back in this mediocre NES game.

The story is about Bart Simpson who needs to save te world from evil aliens from outer space. Sounds cool, doesn't it? Yeah, but do you know how he has to save the world? By collecting hats and searching for purple objects. Sounds like a Sesame Street game!

The controls suck. Jump and run are on the same button, B. Also, if you want to use an item or pause the game, you need to go trough a whole menu. Yes, you have to go trough a whole menu to pause the game. 

The music is just an 8-bit version of the Simpsons theme played over and over. Nothing really special or memorable, and it gets way too annoying way too fast.

It's also pretty hard to find out what items to buy. When you start the game you already have the x-ray glasses, which are used to jump on enemies and collect letters, so a family member can help you with the  end boss. But for example: you only need the cherry bomb once and the rocket a lot of times. 

So that's a short review of this mediocre NES game. If you like the Simpsons, just watch the show.
